Method

  1. Sift flour and add margarine and pinch of salt

  2. Sift together between finger tips until like breadcrumbs, add sugar, then beat egg and add to mixture. 

  3. Stir together adding a little milk if necessary.

  4. When all together in a firm mound, cut into squares rounding them.

  5. Then make small dents in the tops and put in a little jam. Then cover hole and re mould until no jam shows. 

  6. Dampen tops of pastry with a little milk and add a little sugar. 

  7. Put onto a greased tin into an oven set to Regulo 7 for 15-20 mins.
